Fabric Requirements Note: I found with this quilt that it was easier to pick the borders after the center was completed. However, you could also pick a border print first and select the center colors to match the print. - To make a crib/lap quilt:
- 5/8 yard of 3 fabrics (a light, medium and dark) in one color way for weave
- 5/8 yard of 3 fabrics (a light, medium and dark) in a second color way for weave
- 5/8 yard of a background fabric
- The following may be bought after class (note: There are 2 border options, the first from the book and the second from my sample):
Border option 1: - 1/2 yard for border 1
- 1/3 yard for border 2
- 1/2 yard for border 3
Border option 2: - 3/8 yard for border 1
- 1 1/4 yards for border 2
- To make a twin, double/queen or king size quilt please refer to fabric requirements in the book.
Thread - A thread that blends with the fabrics for piecing.
Tools - Sewing machine in good working order (if you use a 1/4" foot please bring it)
- Rotary cutting equipment (your favorite ruler for cutting strips will come in handy)
- Normal sewing supplies (scissors, pins, seam ripper etc.)
Before Class - Pre-wash and iron all fabrics. (If desired)
Notes - This class will cover
- Cutting instructions
- Fabric placement
