Upcoming EventsFebruary is soon going to be last month. The good thing about that is it's bringing us closer to Spring and, after all this snow, I am ready for some warm weather. March 1 is next Monday and that ushers in our anniversary month. Although the Calico Cupboard has been in business since about 1977 we have only owned it since 2003. 03/03/03 is when we opened for business in Pataskala. That means on 03/03/10 we will celebrate our 7th anniversary. To kick off the month we will have the 2nd Annual Quilts in the Cupboard Quilt Show. We welcome any quilts, wallhangings, purses, totes, tablerunners, toppers, quilted jackets, etc that you would like us to put on display. Like I said before, this show is not judged. Things don't have to be perfect. It is just for our viewing enjoyment. There is no quilt police. The show goes from Mar. 1-7 during regular store hours. We will be open on Sun. Mar. 7 from 1-5pm. Bring your friends and family and come on out to see the quilts. It's a free show. As part of our celebration we'll have scratch off cards that will be good for FREE stuff or $$ off your purchase. You can also register for a basket of goodies to be given away on March 31. On Wed. Mar. 3 enoy a piece of anniversary cake. Each Sat. in March there will be something special on sale. This Sat. from 12-3pm is our beginning quilting class, Beginning 105, where you will learn the basics of machine quilting. If you're new to quilting or just haven't done much machine quilting then this will be a good class for you. The fee is just $15 and is being taught by Nancy Ockay (with maybe a little help from me). I've heard that, here in central Ohio, we only have few inches to go to break February's snow record. I don't really want more snow but we might as well make what we have had worth it. So...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. On that note I will bid you adieu. I hope to see you at our quilt show next week. Have a wonderful weekend, Sherry |
