CANCELLED - Lined Buffalo Plaid Bag with Chenille Applique
Supplies:
Unfinished canvas tote (Kimberbell)
½ yard fabric for lining
Approximately ¼ yard fabric for applique (DO NOT USE BATIK for the applique as they do not fray well) – see choices above (you will need four layers of fabric for the chenille applique) – if you are doing more than one shape, you will need enough fabric to make four cut outs of each shape
Piece of Steam a Seam Light stabilizer large enough to interface a single layer of your shape(s) - (this will be fused on the back of one of the above pieces prior to cutting shape)
¾ yard SF101 (Shape Flex interfacing)
Tim-tex, craft-tex, or Cardboard to stabilize bottom of bag (approximately 4” x 12” to be cut to size in class – this is the support for the bottom of your bag; optional but helps keep the shape of the bag
Neutral thread for stitching
Matching or contrasting thread to stitch the chenille lines
Embellishments of your choice such as buttons for eyes, ribbon for bows, twine for pumpkins, tree decorations, etc. – use your imagination
Wonder clips or heavy pins to secure lining to bag while sewing
Bring your machine, foot pedal, and power cord
If you have an open toe foot, narrow edge-joining foot, and / or ¼” foot for your machine, bring them to class and they will be very helpful in creating your project.

Chenille cutter (Clover slash cutter)
Small scissors for trimming
Blue painter’s tape or RNK pink embroidery tape (these tapes are not sticky and will not leave residue on your fabric)
